Junior Davis and Federation Cups - Honduras April 7-14, 2008 UPDATE

Having won both their group matches against Trinidad & Tobago and Bermuda, the boys (seeded #1) advanced to the last eight playoff.

The team won again yesterday against Dominican Republic 2-1 in a very exciting tie.

Jackson Kerr lost 6-0,6-3 against their #2 player but Barbados #1 Darian King won 6-3,6-3 and the two of the them paired up and played some good doubles to win our first doubles match of the week 7-6(3),4-6,6-0.

The boys now play Cuba in the semis later today Friday.

Having come up against some tough opposition in their group matches, the girls are in the playoffs for 9th to 16th spots.

Captain Kevin Yarde reports a victory at last, as yesterday the girls beat Aruba 2-1.

They play Honduras later today to determine the 9th to 12th placings.

Daily results can be found by clicking on the COTECC link at right.

Thanks go out to all those who attended the Irish Pub night fund raising event held in March and to all our kind donors who helped to send our boys and girls to travel to Honduras to play in these competitions.
