Top junior player Darian King has now made it into the top 100 in the ITF junior rankings. In fact he has gone beyond his dream of reaching 100 by year-end and as at today is #86 in the world rankings.

Darian has just played in the GB1 Pan Am Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he and regular Jamaican partner Brandon Burke (#113) won the doubles event again - their 5th title in recent months.

his is the second event of the series held in June and October 2009 with points awarded for wins in the first event being combined with points for wins in the second tournament.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 

NOTICE is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of Barbados Tennis Association Inc will be held at the office of Barbados Olympic Association, Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, Wildey St Michael, on MONDAY SEPTEMBER 7, 2009 AT 6.00 PM.

All members are invited to attend.

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of September 3, 2008 and Audited Financial Statements for the year ended December 31, 2008 will be posted at Quick Downloads shortly.

The trophy presentation for the 2009 Inter Club tournament was held at the Tennis Centre on Saturday 4^th July. Organizer Steve Slocombe thanked all captains and players who participated in the event and said that he hoped that next year there would be additional teams taking part in what was seen as a wonderful opportunity for players of all ages to participate in keen competition and camaraderie.

This years winning team was Summerhayes with 423 points followed by Ocean View with  366 points. Other teams that participated were Tennis Centre, Paragon, Barbados Yacht Club, Windward and West Side.

Mr. Slocombe was particularly pleased to announce that the Barbados National Bank had agreed to sponsor the Inter Club tournament in the future and this was confirmed by CEO and President of the Bank, Mr. Robert Le Hunte.
