Re: Paragon on notice as tennis clubs vie for 2016 inter club championship
The Barbados Tennis Association Inter-Club Tennis Championship 2016 is now well underway and sponsor Republic Bank is looking forward to a keenly contested season as Paragon Tennis Club attempts to make it two in a row.
Speaking recently at Paragon’s home court while presenting this year’s sponsorship to President of the Barbados Tennis Association Dr. Raymond Forde, General Manager, Retail Banking, Mrs. Susan Torry said Republic Bank was pleased to support the sport’s continuing positive contribution to Barbados and its young people.
“This annual sponsorship is testament to our unwavering commitment to the development of the sport of tennis in Barbados. We are now in our seventh consecutive year supporting this annual Inter Club Tennis Championship, and we are very happy with the progress we have seen, particularly as it relates to the development of young players,” Mrs. Torry stated.
Mrs. Torry encouraged competing teams to give of their very best, while wishing Paragon all the best in their title defence. She said Republic Bank was convinced that a viable club tennis structure was critical to maintaining the health of the sport in Barbados.
This year’s tournament served off on February 20, and action continues every week at courts around the island..
